Garvey Homes was established in 1984 and has focused on providing the best value in our markets. For 27 years, it has been our goal to develop the most efficient construction practices and custom design processes to provide the best value to our customers. Some of the things we focus on are:
Energy Efficiency
More energy efficient homes have more value and we have upgraded the energy efficiency of our homes on a regular basis to take advantage of all new technologies that are cost effective. In 2007 and again in 2009, Garvey Homes won the Excellence in Energy Performance Award for building the most energy efficient custom homes in the North Central Texas area. The award is determined by having the best average HERS rating (the energy efficiency rating used by the Certified Energy Star Raters) in the Oncor Energy area.

Durability
Homes that have more durable materials, require less maintenance and more lasting value. Whenever it is cost effective, we use more durable materials in the construction of your home. Products like hail resistant shingles, wrought iron front doors, fiberglass patio doors, and fiber cement soffit and fascia are the types of products that preserve the beauty of your home and require little or no maintenance.

Architectural Design
When you are ready to build your custom designed home, we can take you through the design process by working with our architect or yours. We have developed a relationship with an award winning registered architect over a 15 period of working together to develop outstanding designs at a reasonable cost. We work with you at each step of the process to design a home that can meet your budget and include as many of the features that we can provide within that budget.

Attention to Detail
This is a phrase that is used by many builders but is hard to define. There are many things that are done at various stages of the building process that have to be closely supervised to get a quality finished product. An example would be making sure the recessed can lights, air supply grills, and fans and fixtures all line up in a symmetrical pattern rather than wherever the electrical and AC contractors find it easiest to do.

Adding Value
Garvey Homes is always looking for ways to add value for our customers by working on adding features that have broad appeal and high perceived value that can be done at a reasonable cost when working with suppliers and subcontractors to maximize efficiency.
Several of the things discussed above that improve energy efficiency, comfort, and durability add value to your home. In addition, there are many things in the design phase that we can help with by providing the cost estimates of things like a 4 car garage vs. a 3 car garage, adding space to bedrooms and closets in ways that minimize costs.
Lot selection can be an important factor in building a home that has good value in the neighborhood. For example, we can assist in lot selection by advising on additional costs on lots that have greater topography and may require extra costly retaining walls.
